innogy Ventures is the venture capital arm of innogy SE, one of Europe’s largest utility companies. Our purpose is to find the best teams that strive to make the world a better place.
Although we are a corporate VC, we approach each investment opportunity much like a financial investor. Our primary goal is to generate superior returns through profitable exits.
We run a quick and transparent process and take a collaborative, portfolio-first approach. Each venture is supported with a hands-on attitude, deep market understanding and business development assistance.
We offer our portfolio companies access to relevant people and units within the innogy group to help them become more competitive and accelerate their growth.

Matthias Engel
Managing Partner
Before founding innogy Ventures, Matthias has pretty much spent all his career life in M&A. First as investment banker and then as part of innogy’s corporate M&A team. In his early career, he was part of a fintech start-up.
Alina Hassenrück
Office Manager
Alina’s professional life started with an apprenticeship in the RWE Group. After working in innogy’s M&A department and graduating a further training as a business economist, Alina joined the innogy Ventures team beginnng of 2017.
Veronique Hördemann
Investment Partner
Before founding innogy Ventures, Veronique had different roles in the commodity trading business of RWE and later was portfolio strategist for innogy. Beside her professional career she is a passionate yoga teacher.
Felix Krause
Investment Partner
Before joining innogy Ventures, Felix founded Milk the Sun (the world’s largest marketplace for PV projects) as well as an international renewable project developer, and worked as a start-up consultant.
Thomas Labryga
Investment Partner
Before joining innogy Ventures, Thomas was a Management Consultant with a focus on strategy in the energy industry. In this role he was developing national level energy strategies and executing the IPO of innogy.

Thomas started his career as an entrepreneur in IT services and e-commerce, later on he held executive positions in RWE Group / innogy SE (Strategy & Innovation, Sales & Trading and Portfolio Management).
Mischa Wetzel
Investment Partner
Mischa was a founder in the consumer Internet, e-commerce, media & music space for around 10 years before he changed sides and became a venture capitalist, first at a Berlin-based early stage VC fund, now at innogy Ventures.
